An editorial collection for the study of wine

OINOS is an independent editorial and educational publication devoted to the study, understanding, and culture of wine.

Wine is an artwork composed by nature and perfected through time.

To understand it is to understand the landscapes that shape it, the traditions that preserve it, and the generations devoted to its craft.

OINOS was created from this belief: that wine education can be rigorous without feeling institutional, and that knowledge, beautifully presented, can deepen the way we see, taste, and remember.

The study of wine, reconsidered

OINOS begins with structured wine education, transforming a complex body of knowledge into a considered journey through place, grape, climate, viticulture, winemaking, tasting, and style.

Its first three volumes accompany the progression of WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3, bringing together structured lessons, illustrated wine maps, systematic tasting guidance, flashcards, knowledge checks, and mock examinations.

But examinations are only one point along the way.

The purpose of OINOS is not simply to help students remember what they need to know. It is to reveal the connections behind that knowledge — why a grape belongs to a place, why climate changes style, why traditions endure, and why the decisions made in the vineyard and cellar ultimately appear in the glass.

An editorial approach

OINOS takes its visual language from the great atlases, engravings, natural histories, and collected volumes of the past.

Maps are drawn to be studied. Illustrations are created to clarify. Typography, composition, and hierarchy are treated as part of the educational experience rather than decoration around it.

The result is a contemporary wine library designed to be explored volume by volume, region by region, grape by grape.

Education is only the beginning

OINOS is conceived as a living publication.

Beyond its educational volumes, the collection will continue into the vineyards, cellars, books, exhibitions, auctions, travels, people, and conversations that shape wine culture today.

Future editions will follow remarkable producers and vintages, emerging regions, harvests, books and travel, exhibitions and auctions, and the evolving world of wine.
