If Bordeaux is built on blending, Burgundy is built on terroir. Here, the vineyard is the true identity of the wine. Even small differences in slope, soil and exposure can produce noticeably different expressions, making Burgundy one of the world’s purest demonstrations of place. Think terroir plus Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
